I'm addicted to Laurell K. Hamilton's novels about Anita Blake, raiser of zombies (by profession), executioner of vampires (only the really evil ones), and collector of toy stuffed penguins (her favorite named Sigmund). I like to read the first sentence or two of a novel in the bookstore to see if it makes me want to read more. The first book in the series, Guilty Pleasures, begins:Willie McCoy had been a jerk before he died. His being dead didn't change that.
What is it about vampires that I find sexy? Lestat and Louis from Anne Rice's novels (hey, you can't go wrong with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt portraying them on the big screen), Angel and Darla from the TV series Angel, Kate Beckinsale as Selene in Underworld (a sequel is due out this year), Kiefer Sutherland and Billy Wirth in The Lost Boys, Sparky and Kara in Chronicles of Sparky the Goldfish (plans for an animated movie are in the works). Laurell K. Hamilton succeeds in making vampires sexy, and her books have been called "An R-rated Buffy the Vampire Slayer." I'm about to start the fourth book, Lunatic Cafe. In a way I feel like I'm hooked on romance novels for a slightly different crowd, but so far enough interesting plot and character developments have kept me buying more.

NO WAY! She is my favorite author and i love the Anita Blake series. i have quoted her a few times and will be doing so again next month (have to re-read and find the passage i am looking for, unless u want to find it for me).
the last book was a little dissapointing. i can't belive i'm saying this, but it was too much sex. lol

Yes, it's tentatively scheduled to be release in December. I believe they just finished shooting this past March.
Normally I'd snort and scoff at all this, until I saw "Embrace of the Vampire" (and even that's best viewed on Fast Foward, except for the good stuff).
"Embrace of the Vampire"? yuck - those two 2 minute scenes were the only good parts. :)
